Harissa Baked Beans

4 strips bacon cut in ½” slices widthwise.

½ c coarsely chopped onions

2 cloves of Garlic

1 15oz Can Black Beans drained

1 15oz Can Northern Beans drained

1 15oz Can Pinto Beans drained

1 15oz Can Cannellini beans drained

1 TBLS Better Than bullion Ham Base

1 c water

½ c packed Dark Brown Sugar

3 TBLS Olive Cart Harissa Chili Seasoning

1 c Olive Cart Black Truffle Balsamic

2 TBLS Worcestershire Sauce

Salt and Pepper to taste


Preheat oven to 350 degrees

In a 3” deep oven proof skillet, over medium heat, cook bacon, as it starts to release it’s fat add onions and garlic cook until onions translucent add ham base and water, stirring to release the savory bits from the bottom of the pan. Add beans and bring to a simmer. 

In the meantime, mix Dark Brown Sugar, Olive Cart Harissa Chili Seasoning,

Olive Cart Black Truffle Balsamic, and Worcestershire sauce together.  Stir into simmering beans.


Place pan in oven and bake 90 minutes stirring occasionally.


A rich deep baked bean to be enjoyed alone or as a side.
