Spicy Bloomin’ Baked Caramel Apple

Ingredients:

2 Honeycrisp Apples

3 TBLS Dark Brown Sugar, Packed

4 TBLS Olive Cart Butternut Squash Seed Oil

1 tsp  Olive Cart Baharat Seasoning

1 TBLS Flour

4 caramels, unwrapped

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375

Cut top ¼” off apples. With a spoon (or corer) scoop out core, being careful to leave bottom in tact. Then use a small knife to cut two deep circular cuts around core opening (again be careful not to cut through bottom. Flip apples over and make narrow cuts all the way around. Flip back over and you can see cuts. If inner ring didn’t get cut do so now.

Place apples in oven safe dish.  Place 2 unwrapped caramels in bottom of each apple.

Heat Olive Cart Butternut Squash Seed Oil and brown sugar in the microwave for 30 seconds.  Stir and heat another 30 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir in flour and Olive Cart Baharat Seasoning. Divide the mixture over the top of each apple.  Press it down to hold in place.

Bake 375 for 25-30 minutes.  You may need to push a spoon into the mixture part way through to help the caramels work in with the remaining ingredients. Test for doneness of apple, you don’t want it mushy but you do want it cooked.  Using a large spoon move the apples to bowls, the outside layer of apple pieces will spread out and the middle pieces will cling to that spicy caramel goodness in the center.
